Wreck You

“My name is Maura McCafferty. I take men who love me and I destroy them. If there was a scarlet letter I could wear to keep the men at bay, it would be a W. I would wear it proudly, to let them know I am a wrecker. If you love me, I will wreck you.”

Raised within the Devil’s Crusader’s, Maura has been exposed to many of life’s uglies and sheltered from any real relationships. She has all but given up on the idea of love.

Until she meets Corbin Marx, a sexy beast of a Marine who refuses to back down from any challenge. He is the type of man Maura has craved, the type who might just be strong enough…

This journey will be brutal, littered with violence, deceit and heartache. Maura must learn to navigate through the bumpy roads that life has paved and hope that at the end she will find her happiness.

Warning: Due to Violence, language, drug use and sexual content this book is not suited for anyone under 17. If those things offend you, this might too.

WRECK YOU TEASER

~WRECK YOU EXCERPT~

We begin to walk back towards the house. The pond is quite beautiful. Wild flowers surround the path along the edge of the pond, and with the onset of fall, the foliage is starting to be very colorful, hues of red and yellow are beginning to cover the leaves. Corbin stops walking. He drops my hand and walks over to a clump of wild aster. It’s a pretty white flower. He leans over me and tucks the flower behind my ear. I smile at him. It’s a sweet gesture.

“This is the first time in my life where I wish I was not a Marine.”

“What do you mean?” I question.

“We’re so new. But this thing between us, it’s as palpable as the air we breathe. It’s explosive, and more real than anything I’ve ever felt. Part of me wishes we could just stay here forever – away from work; away from the club, just you and me. I love my job. Always have.” He moves behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist, and leaning his head on my shoulder.

“This right here, with you, is perfect. I don’t even know if I’m making any sense. Whenever we’re apart, I want you to remember us right here, at this moment, and how perfect we are together. How strong this is.”

Fight You

Daws is a Devil Crusader, born and raised a bad boy. He’s sick of superficial, meaningless relationships. Fate throws him a curveball when Aubrey begins working for his dad’s motorcycle shop.

Aubrey is damaged and scarred.

She’s running from a past that has the ability to destroy her. It’s not just herself that she needs to protect. She’s fighting to save her sister. She needs to keep the monster away and she’ll do everything in her power to keep her sister safe.

She wasn’t expecting to meet Daws, the man who would change their lives. Dangerous, strong and completely hers, her heart never had a chance.

Is Daws capable of protecting her from the monster who haunts her? The monster who will stop at nothing to get to her? He wants her back, that much is clear.

She just hopes that when the time comes, she’s strong enough to save them all….

**Please note this is the second book in the Wrecked Series. It can be read as a stand alone and it is not necessary to have read Wreck You, however reading Wreck You first may give you some background to Daws. This book is intended for mature audiences as it has graphic scenes involving sex and child abuse. The use of the F bomb is frequently thrown around so if that offends you, I wouldn’t recommend reading this.

Fight You Teaser 2

~FIGHT YOU EXCERPT~

Aubrey? Shh sweet girl. Take a deep breath for me.” Daws is beside me, one hand is stroking my hand and the other is stroking my face. “Mickey, can you go check on my dad and let me know how he’s doing?”

I start to calm down from Daws’ touch. I open my eyes and Daws’ expression looks pained. “You can go see Dray, Daws. It’s okay,” I say, feeling bad that he’s here with me when his dad was brought in.

“Are you kidding me? That old man isn’t going to let a little heart problem get him down. You’ll see.

He’ll be raising hell before you know it. Are you okay? I mean, of course you’re not okay, you just had an epic fucking panic attack.”

“I’m so sorry Daws.”

“What? No. Don’t apologize.” He is so close to me. Looking into his eyes, I find that I misjudge. He isn’t scared because of his dad, I scared him.

“I’m okay, Daws.”

“I heard that guy on the TV Aubrey, he said your name. He said your fucking name and then you went into a terrible panic attack. Do you know how long you’ve been out?” I shake my head no. “For nearly two hours. That’s how long. Is this the guy? The one you’re running from?”

Hurt You

All Antonio did was hurt her.
All he did was give her hell.
He took away everything good in her world.
Everything that ever mattered.

Jenny is used to putting on a brave facade, letting the outside world see her as wild and free. She is loyal and loves with her whole heart, loving others so much that she is willing to sacrifice herself in the process.

Jules was only supposed to be a diversion for Jenny. Fun times with no strings attached. She didn’t intend to fall for Jules, a member of The Devil’s Crusader’s Motorcycle Club. But fall for him is exactly what she did.

Antonio has been wreaking havoc on her life since Jenny was sixteen years old. Now she is forced to marry Antonio to keep her loved ones safe, destroying the man she loves in the process and driving him away.

Riding back into town after years away, Jules discovers the woman he once loved no longer exists, and it’s up to him to see if he can bring her back.

NOTE TO READER: This book contains strong sexual scenes and violence against women. Jenny curses so if you can’t stand the “f” bomb then avoid this one. This is book 3, however, each book in the series can be read as a stand alone.

Hurt You Teaser 3

~HURT YOU EXCERPT~

I’m fine.” Shit, my lip quivered a little as I let the lie slip past my lips.

Jules’s eyes darkened in a way I wouldn’t have thought possible considering they were usually the coolest shade of ice blue, and now they were near midnight blue. It was probably just the shadows of the night, but I felt like the air around me became heavier and the darkness that Jules emitted was full on bad ass.

His hand ever so gently moved the fabric of my dress. I don’t know why I didn’t stop him. I probably should have, but the vibe that was coming off of him was more than I could deal with considering I was dealt such huge blows moments before.

“What the fuck!” were the angry, loud words that came from his mouth, making me flinch.

He was looking at the raised skin bleeding from Antonio’s bite.

“It’s nothing,” I lied again.

“You’re bleeding walking down the street by yourself, shaking like something scared the shit out of you, and it’s nothing?”

“I’m fine.”

He grabbed my hand, walked me over to his bike, reached in a side compartment and took out a large black Devil’s Crusader’s t-shirt.

“Put this on,” he ordered and on autopilot I listened. He handed me a pair of glasses and then said,

“Bike. Now.”

A man sitting on his motorcycle with out a shirt on, with a serious expression.

And the number one reason why authors write romance

It’s just as much fun to break your heart as it is to put it back together

r

My name is Abby McCarthy and I write romance. I write romance because I am in love with LOVE!

I love the happy ever afters- I love the-rip your heart outs. I just love Romance. In 2014 I released my first book Wreck You. My most popular quote from Wreck You is

“Is there such a thing as girl blue balls? That’s how I feel, like I’m blue-jayed, a blue balled va-jay-jay.”

As a writer I love to make the reader feel all kinds of emotions. With me you will get laughter, love and angst. You will also get a happy ever after. It’s something I like when I read, so I write what I like.

December 2014 I published Fight You, the second book in The Wrecked Series. Fight You is suspenseful and angst filled.

“You are a mosaic of beautifully broken pieces put together.”

In May of 2015 I released my third novel, Hurt You. It is the final book in The Wrecked Series. (Each book can be read as a stand-alone)

Hurt You is getting fantastic praise, “The stories Abby McCarthy writes are so beautiful she had me in tears, she broke my heart in this book and then proceeded to not only mend it but to make it better than ever. I cried, I laughed and I smiled so much reading this book. This is the type of book I needed and wish I could find more often.”Goodreads reviewer

You can buy all three books in a recently released box set!

The scoop:

I want to give you an update on what I am working on and what is going on with me. It’s been a hard summer, and by hard I mean truly, very hard. My mom is sick. She is young and I have to become her legal guardian. Set up doctors appointments all while trying to figure out the nursing home system and how to be the best advocate for her that I can. The entire system feels flawed. Did I say this is hard??

The other thing going on is my baby is a monster. Mothers to little boys understand that this is all that needs to be said.

So there is a ton of stress and I’m not writing at my usual speed, however, I have two, yes two books that I am working on right now. Both are around the 10,000 word mark. One is very contemporary and the other is more of a mystery/suspense romance.

In the contemporary my heroine’s name is Maple and this book takes place in the South.

In the other book, you will fall for June and Lucas. The twists and turns in this story will leave you reeling!

So even though I have had some stress, I wanted to let you know that I still have had the wheel churning and I am hard at work.

I love an addict

It is very hard loving an addict. My husband is a wonderful man who understands addiction and he is supportive of my love for my addict, but I love her. I wrote this the other day when I was worried about my addict and if she was going to be okay. For now I think she will be.

ADDICTION

Pain, It’s a slicing desperate place. A hopeless grip on your heart that you wish would loosen, but there is no releasing the tightness you feel or the powerlessness you feel when someone you love has slipped through your fingers.

The kind of pain you feel when someone you love is destroying themselves and you are powerless is insurmountable.

It’s raw.

I wish I could say that it’s empty. Emptiness would be easier than loving someone who is destroying everything good in their world and darkening it with shades of grey so dark that you can hardly tell the difference. It’s a hold squeezing and not letting up. The kind of pain you wish you could do something about, but you can’t because you are powerless.

Powerless.

No control over what someone else does. The only person you can control is yourself and your reactions.

So you mourn.

It’s a loss even though they’re living.

And then they’re better and then they’re not.

And then they’re better again, and then they’re not. Again.

I love an addict. It’s hard, but I do. If you have read Fight You then hopefully you read my note to the reader and you understand who I love. I wanted to share my feelings with you because you might love an addict too. It’s hard, but you are not alone.

My first signing at The Cleveland Author Event

Romance readers and writers are some of the most special people and that is because we are all dreamers! Thank you for coming out and saying hello! If you didn’t make it because Cleveland is too far, I hope to find you soon somewhere. Any feedback on where you would like to see me is appreciated!
